Russell Hudnall REALTOR®
I’m Russell Hudnall REALTOR® with the Walker Texas Team. I help buyers and sellers understand their options and make informed real estate decisions. My background combines advanced real estate education, marketing expertise, management experience, and extensive study of residential and commercial real estate. I believe good representation requires communication, preparation, professional judgment, and an understanding of what matters to each client.
My Story Before Real Estate
My connection to San Marcos began when I moved here to attend Texas State University. I earned my marketing degree and quickly fell in love with the community. Instead of pursuing a corporate career somewhere else, I decided to put down roots in “San Marvelous.”
This is where I met my wife, Susan. We purchased our first home here and later welcomed our son, Peyton. Before becoming a REALTOR®, I built a 20-year career in multi-unit retail management. That experience taught me leadership, accountability, communication, problem-solving, and customer service. Those skills continue to influence how I work with clients today.
Eventually, I realized I wanted to apply those skills to real estate. I had experienced homeownership here myself and wanted to help others navigate their own real estate decisions.

Russell Hudnall helps home buyers understand property information, documents, and important decisions throughout the real estate process.
Taking My Real Estate Education Further
I believe clients deserve a real estate professional who takes education seriously. For me, earning a real estate license was the starting point, not the finish line. I returned to college and earned an AAS degree in real estate brokerage licensing. That commitment required considerable time, effort, and support from my family.
I have also completed hundreds of hours of advanced coursework through the National Association of REALTORS® and Texas REALTORS®. My professional education includes extensive study of both residential and commercial real estate.
I hold the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI™). The additional education behind my GRI and other coursework helps broaden the knowledge I can bring to clients.
Education cannot replace hands-on experience. However, combining education, experience, and professional judgment helps me provide better guidance when clients face important decisions.
Why I Joined Walker Texas Team
My relationship with the Walker Texas Team actually began before I became a REALTOR®. James Walker helped me purchase my first home. That gave me an opportunity to experience the team from a client’s perspective.
I saw firsthand how much knowledgeable guidance and good communication can matter during a real estate transaction. Later, when I had the opportunity to join Walker Texas Team at Keller Williams Realty, the decision made sense.
Since joining the team, I have continued expanding my real estate knowledge and professional education. Today, I bring that education and perspective to clients facing their own important real estate decisions.
Real Estate Experience Built Around Clients
Every buyer, seller, property, and transaction is different. That’s why I don’t believe in taking a one-size-fits-all approach to real estate. I have helped clients work through contracts, negotiations, property questions, changing markets, and important financial decisions.
When working with buyers, I begin by understanding what they actually want to accomplish. Then, I help them evaluate properties and options based on those priorities. For sellers, my experience influences everything from pricing discussions to property presentation and marketing.
My job isn’t to make decisions for my clients. Instead, I provide information, perspective, and professional guidance so they can make informed decisions for themselves.
My Fiduciary Standard
Knowledge is important in real estate, but that knowledge also brings responsibility. A real estate transaction can involve one of someone’s largest financial decisions. I take that responsibility seriously.
Throughout my professional education, I have taken the REALTOR® Code of Ethics seriously. Its principles influence how I approach client representation.
When I represent someone, my responsibility extends beyond completing paperwork and reaching the closing table. I work to provide knowledgeable guidance, communicate clearly, and protect my client’s interests throughout the transaction.
For me, good representation means remembering whose transaction it is. It belongs to the client.
Marketing Experience for Sellers
My marketing background plays an important role when I represent property owners. I earned my marketing degree before beginning my real estate career, so marketing has always shaped how I approach listings.
I chose Keller Williams Realty partly because of its technology, professional resources, and extensive real estate network. However, having access to marketing tools isn’t enough. You also need to understand which tools fit a particular property and how to use them effectively.
That’s where my marketing education and real estate experience come together. I consider the property, location, likely buyers, and features that make the home distinctive. From there, I can develop a marketing approach around the property rather than repeating the same strategy for every listing.

Russell Hudnall uses professional presentation and innovative marketing tools to help listings stand out and reach prospective buyers.
Professional Real Estate Marketing
Depending on the property, my marketing toolkit can include professional photography, drone videography, Matterport technology, floorplans, and virtual staging. Digital marketing can extend that exposure through social media, online campaigns, video, and other digital channels.
Those platforms can include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Nextdoor, X, Reddit, Threads, and TikTok. Listings may also receive exposure through major real estate websites, including Zillow, Redfin, Homes.com, and Realtor.com. Open houses can provide another opportunity to introduce potential buyers to a property.
However, my goal isn’t simply to put a property everywhere. I want to select marketing tools that make sense for the home, location, and potential buyers.
Strategic Storytelling and Exposure
My marketing background also influences how I tell the story of a property. A listing is more than bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, and a price. Buyers are often trying to understand what living there might actually be like.
Every property has a location, community, lifestyle, and story. Effective marketing helps potential buyers see those connections. For example, I create content about communities like La Cima and topics that matter to people considering a move.
I also write and develop articles covering various aspects of life in Central Texas. Through those articles, I share local knowledge, experiences, and useful information with readers. Many can be found in the Walker Texas Team Blog Archives.
That approach allows me to market more than a house. It helps potential buyers understand the community and lifestyle surrounding a property.

Effective real estate marketing tells the story of more than a property. Russell Hudnall helps buyers understand the lifestyle and community surrounding a home.
Clear and Consistent Communication
Real estate transactions have many moving parts. Contracts, financing, inspections, negotiations, deadlines, and unexpected questions can all become part of the process. I work to keep my clients informed about what is happening and what comes next.
Communication also isn’t the same for everyone. Some clients prefer quick text messages, while others want detailed emails or traditional phone conversations. Whenever possible, I adapt to the communication style that works best for each client.
My goal is simple. I don’t want clients wondering whether an important message was received or what they are supposed to do next.
Residential and Commercial Education
My professional education extends beyond traditional residential real estate. I have completed extensive education involving both residential and commercial real estate.
While my transaction experience has been residential, my commercial education has broadened my understanding of the real estate industry. It also gives me additional perspective when discussing property ownership, investment considerations, and evolving client goals.
I believe education across different areas of real estate makes me a more knowledgeable professional. Just as importantly, I understand the difference between education and hands-on transaction experience.
When a client’s needs require expertise outside my experience, being part of Walker Texas Team and Keller Williams provides access to additional professional resources.
Local Knowledge Built Through Experience
My knowledge of San Marcos didn’t come from studying a market report or looking at a map. I moved here to attend Texas State University, purchased my first home here, built my career here, and raised my family here.
I’ve experienced San Marcos as a student, homeowner, parent, business professional, and REALTOR®. My real estate work also takes me into communities throughout the surrounding Central Texas corridor.
That combination gives me a personal connection to the area and professional exposure to different communities and property types. Local knowledge matters because real estate is inherently local.
Why Choose Russell Hudnall REALTOR®?
Choosing a REALTOR® means selecting someone to help you navigate an important financial decision. I believe education, communication, marketing ability, local knowledge, experience, and professional judgment should all be part of that decision.
My background includes a marketing degree, an AAS degree in real estate brokerage licensing, and extensive advanced real estate education. I also hold the GRI designation and spent 20 years in multi-unit retail management before entering real estate.
However, credentials only tell part of my story. What matters most is how I use that knowledge when I’m sitting across the table from a client.
My role is to educate, communicate, market, negotiate, and provide professional representation based on each client’s needs. When you choose Russell Hudnall REALTOR® with Walker Texas Team, my goal isn’t simply to complete another transaction.
I want to become a knowledgeable and dependable real estate resource you can call when you need one.
